In 1906, Pierre du Pont purchased property near Kennett Square to save trees from being sold for lumber. Today, it's one of the world’s great botanical displays, and continues the mission of its founder.
The idea of a public park in Kennett had been present since the 1960s, but it officially opened in 1993. The park now includes historic ponds, trails, playgrounds, and athletic fields.
Founded by Dixon Stroud, it is an equestrian event that blends tradition with community spirit. Since its first race in 1993, it has raised nearly $1.5 million for local charities while showcasing a unique course renowned for its safety and thrilling features, including North America’s only water jump.
Opened in 2018, they host a variety of art forms and feature a new exhibition every two months.
